Asbury Lanes Garage Sale

Sunday was the Asbury Lanes Garage Sale. Lots of vendors- Great munchies- Bloody Mary's and Mimosas and so many unique things to rummage through. The day was fairly busy. Met lots of enthusiastic customers! Made some money and got my name out there. Even did a little spending myself on a feather hair extension (pictured below) by a small buisness called Humor and Grace. LOVE IT - NEED MORE!!!! Cant wait for the next garage sale! I'll keep you all posted.

crushed velvet

A red crushed velvet baby doll style dress in my opinion is a costume. Something some bohemian rocker chic would wear on stage with some shredded tights and combats, overloaded with sterling silver adornments. They is something endearing about a peice like this. Perhaps wearing it to a holiday party.. or out to dinner with your boo on valentines day, yah know- something along those lines. Seems like a slightly impractical piece but if its affordable, why not add it to your wardrobe just incase you actually have somewhere cool to go- Dress it down grunge to a concert or after party or dress it up girly on an intimate date- whichever you prefer. Forever 21 has it on sale from $23 down to $12... A steal in my eyes. My version, OF COURSE, was found at my local thrift shop for just $5 bucks equipped with SHOULDER PADS! Not my favorite part, but they could easily be cut out. Below are pics i found off two of my frequently read fashion blogs
Cheyenne Meets Chanel
and
Buffalo Stance
Theyre styling is pretty spot on.

holy knit

As we see in the description in the picture below -"Perfectly tattered ivory knit featuring a ribbed scoop neckline, cuff and hem. Oversized fit. Looks rad paired with a black bra and high-waist skinnies!"- I couldn't have stated it better myself.. But why pay $100 when there's a chance of finding it for $2?... I picked up my unbranded version at the Unique thrift shop in Warren... or is it Watchung.. still haven't figured out what town its actually in. After rummaging through rack after rack, i spotted this jem. Not a breathtaking peice but a nice layering peice for colder weather or a simple beach coverup in warmer weather.

paisley

I've been big on this pattern for a while, i love the bohemian gypsy feel. Im always searching on ebay for a colorful paisley print top or dress.. if i was REALLY lucky id score a pair of paisley print flares.. ::sigh:: I pulled a few tops i found on ebay, affordable but not thrilling for the extra bucks...Usually i'd like a light paisley print top in the spring under a crocheted vest with a pair of cut offs and loads of bangles, but i came across this darker toned button down blouse at the Unique in Elizabeth. Wasnt thrilled with it on the hanger and a little weary of the neckline (kind of renaissancey) but i figured id try it on for shits and giggles.. well i wound up liking it and for $3, how could i pass it up?

so for two months my living room was pretty much empty, white walls, totally drab. ALTHOUGH i have this awesome fireplace. but besides that i thought the common room was hopeless....

then i go away for the weekend..and after two days i come back to this... my roomate is the best.

did i mention the leather couches are secondhand - mmm hmm!

tisk tisk

While i took a seat back from my work to do my daily we browsing i stumbled upon cute crocheted black booties on the NastyGal website. Brand new- Just posted today. Now i could have sworn i saw a pair of similar booties in forever 21 this season just a few weeks ago...yep just as i suspected- Forever 21's are going for 32 while nasty gals is going for 58... and we all kow theyre both worth some pocket change and cheaply made.. Personally i think the brown distressed Forever21 version is a bit cuter.. just sayin. not fooling anyone nastygal
